gfxboot-themes-upstream software package provides tool to test and create graphical boot logos (upstream theme), you can install in your Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (Precise Pangolin) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install gfxboot-themes-upstream
gfxboot-themes-upstream is installed in your system.
Make ensure the gfxboot-themes-upstream package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep gfxboot-themes-upstream *
You will get with gfxboot-themes-upstream package name, version, architecture and description in a table
